Often in the Ghost Tour Industry, we are asked the differences between a ghost and a spirit. While oftentimes confused as being the same they are actually very different.
A ghost is defined as the soul of a dead person or animal that can manifest and be seen by the living. A ghost has been described to be translucent, wispy, humanlike, misty, or even demonic. An apparition is an unusual or unexcpeted sight or the act of becoming visible. A Spirit is a soul of a human or animal that has passed on from this life. A spirit can interact with you and the physical world if the spirit chooses to do so. Often a ghost isn’t aware that it is a “ghost” while a spirit IS aware and conscience. This is why ghosts are sometimes stuck in this life while spirits are free.
